Long before the companies, the code, or the plan — there was a father building things in Morinville, Alberta. Not simple things. Sophisticated model railroad layouts that could be lowered from the ceiling on a pulley system, dropping into position when it was time to run them, lifting back up when it was time to work. Radio-controlled paddlewheelers. Airplanes. Leisure boats — built by hand, wired with care, launched and flown with the quiet pride of someone who understood exactly what they had made.
A boy watched all of it. Then started pulling apart old televisions to see what was inside. The components got sorted into jars. Some of those parts still exist today.
That's where the instinct came from. Not a course. Not a career path. A father who built things that moved, and a curiosity that never stopped asking how.
Everything on this page grew from that.
